Born in Shipston On Stour, Warwickshire in 1977, Catherine
Bradley has had a passion for art since childhood. A strong creative
instinct and a motivation to experiment with media, materials and techniques
have led her on a fascinating creative journey.
In recent
years she has been exploring the emotional effects that particular events
have had on her and how subsequent moods evoked can influence her paintings.
Her
instinctive and intuitive approach to work has led her to develop dramatic,
almost sculptural surfaces to her canvases. Paint and texture are layered as
moods are explored, building complex juxtapositions of shape and colour,
engaging the viewer in her emotional statements.
A word from Catherine
My home is my studio, I find being around self-made surroundings the best foundation to work in, with a bottle of wine,
loud music and a blank canvas, away I go....
Moods heavily influence how I paint and the colours I choose, each unique piece
takes hours from preparation to completion as there are layers to build and
drying time is increased by this.
I'm
